Thank You from 6th Class

Copper Fair

‘The King was in his counting house, counting out his money’. This group spent the afternoon sorting 1c, 2c, 5c coins into bags. Great credit goes to the pupils of 6th Class  who organised a ‘Copper Fair’ in aid of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Homemade cakes and biscuits,

a nail bar and friendship bracelets,

and games of many kinds were organised,

to encourage the pupils throughout the school, to part with their small change in aid of this good cause. 6th Class would like to say a sincere thank you to all who supported their fund raising event so generously and would like to announce that they made €666 approx. which was forwarded to The Society of St Vincent de Paul this afternoon.

Nativity Play

Well done to 4th class and all the other groups who helped them as they staged The Nativity this afternoon. We hope that all who were available to attend enjoyed this Christmas event. We certainly did.

We hope that you are feeling better Rebecca.

Senior Infants performing ‘Jack Frost’

The Three Wise Men arrive accompanied by a very curious camel.

Thank you to An Taisce and Laois County Council

The Board of Managment and the Green School Committee would like to thank An Taisce and Laois County Council for their generous sponsorship of the Cycling Safety Courses held in May/June and September/October of this year. Pupils in 5th and 6th have benefitted from this training and we trust that the lessons learned will serve them well as they travel around converting their own never ending energy into mechanical energy.

This initiative is part of our work on the 4th Green Flag Project which addresses the issue of Transport. Next Monday all classes from Junior infants to 6th will engage with the topic of climate change. Following the visit you will find a report on the day on our Green Schools Page.
