Best Art Direction

Congratulations 6th class of 2011/2012 on your award for

Outstanding Achievement in Film Making for Art Direction 2012

Well done to Portarlington Boys on scooping the top award. We are delighted to pass on the baton for Best Film to yet another Laois school. Well done to our neighbours in Barrowhouse who also received an award for their film on the day. You can view all three films on the FÍS website. You will also find the other 21 award winning films available to view and will be amazed at the quality of work on view from talented children nationwide.

Recycled costumes

A very imaginative group of people beavered away creating new from old costumes for our walk. Newspapers, bins, old costumes and clothes as well as cardboard and plastic bottles were used to create a magnificent collection of imaginative outfits. Keep an eye on the blog as we upload different examples. Our thanks to Liam who came along to help with the judging.

Created from newspapers and paper bags.

Who are we?

Ballyadams National School is a rural school in Co Laois. We are close to the Kildare border. A school was built on our present site in 1927 and in 2007 a new 6 room extension was added. In 2010 we opened another new classroom and now we have 7 lovely large classrooms, a general purpose room and lovely wide and bright hallways through our school. This year there are 182 pupils in the school and 11 teachers. Some of our teachers visit other schools in the parish during the day. You can see some pictures of the old school under Board of Management / Short History of our school.

Keep in touch with our blog and we will tell you a great deal more about our school and this beautiful part of Co. Laois.

Check out the short history of our school on the Board of Management page.
